He said "wrong"...and he's Right! 'Accidental' is an equipment malfunction, 'Negligent' is a user error.
Take better care of equipment

Most folks who know what they're talking about understand the difference.
Do a lot of ND's get called AD's by those who caused them? Yes. Are all AD's ND's? No.
Right. Equipment when properly maintained will never, ever, ever, fail unpredictably........
Have some been negligent in their maintenance which led to a preventable malfunction? Absolutely.
Does that encompass all instances? No. Parts fail unexpectedly. And some have inherent issues by design. It's why we follow the rules for when that mechanical failure potentially takes place.

Some equipment is problematic by manufacturer design, e.g., Sig P320.
AD's are very rare amongst the long list of ND's. I understand the skepticism. But they do exist. Just because we've all probably heard of many examples of someone calling it accidental when we know based on how the story went that it was entirely out of user negligence, doesn't mean they never happen.
Stick around a little longer and you might be surprised how much you didn't know that you didn't know.
