Hiding your Scent while hunting

Keep in mind that the reason dogs and other canines roll in nasty stuff is because they have an instinctive drive to cover their own scent, even if they don't recognize that's what they're doing. Even Mother Nature uses cover scents.

Be still ,be quiet ,be clean :)

Their ears ,eyes & nose are their best tools for survival.

I used the top one ,or similar product, for years to clean my clothes.

Then arm & hammer came out with the one on the right ,an I switched to it .

some products you got there. well no harm in trying, Right.

Hunting in Pennsylvania was always full of crazy stories.
Tons of pressure in the woods and it wasn't strange to hear stories of guys smoking in a tree with a campfire a few feet away then guy get sick, leans over the stand to vomit, falls out of the stand, rolls over his empty beer cans, looks up and is able to pull off a shot on a massive 10 pointer staring at him.....haha.

Use scent free detergent. Play the wind and understand thermals. Get as high as you feel comfortable in a good sturdy tree. On average I sit 25 to 30 feet up. Keeps your scent high and your movement concealed.

I'm a believer that the scent free shampoo/ body wash stuff works.
The sprays, maybe but keeping your Clothes washed in scent free detergent and put in a box full of pine branches/leaves, even soft soil from there you hunt is a good idea.
Not smoking or being around smokers helps.
Sitting on the ground and getting up even after scent control you
Can smell your
Own scent escape.
It's tough.

Cover scent helps around your area, playing the wind.
Even burnt logs can bring curious deer.

But alotmof this goes out the window during the rut.
I had forgotten the burnt log trick. Since its too late for deer, how do hogs and coyotes react to that scent?
