I have high hopes that this will all be quashed in the courts. This is probably the worst ATF rule in decades, and that includes the bump-stock one.

Still, it is what it is. I'm not about to start shredding any braces I may or may not own, but the point of this thread was that it's pretty scammy for folks to ignore the current legal situation around them.

As for why? It just bugs me when people try to take advantage of the less informed. If you don't fall into that catagory, then relax.




I never said anything about compliance. That's everybody's personal choice.

If you want to knowingly commit a felony that's on you. I'm not concerned at all.

I'll make it simple for you with pictures. And who is taking advantage of the misinformed? The one putting out inaccurate information. Or the one putting out accurate information.

It's in effect as of 1/13/2023... No matter what PBS might say. And that 3 million is closer to 10 million by the ATFs own admission in the rule document.

And one last thing. The 120 day 'grace period' is only for owners of braced guns. They make it very clear that any transfer to a non-FFL/SOT is a felony since these are now technically SBRs.

That's got me PO'd enough to start this thread. This is serious felony crap just so someone can dump their $200 brace on someone who might not be on the news cycle.

Don’t feed fear and propaganda that’s part of the problem. Stand up and stand firm on your God given rights ! Knowledge is key yes stay informed but don’t move an inch off of your constitutional rights !! No more Amendments !!

Seen a few folks trying to take advantage of the confusion to dump braces or braced guns on here since the ATF ruling on 1/13.

In case folks didn't wade through the 293 pages, as of Friday those things are SBRs or have the potential to make a gun an SBR. There is no legal way to transfer those items right now.

Yeah, it's stupid and it sucks, but for now it's also the law.

The ATF was very clear on this. Selling a braced gun is a felony right now. It's an SBR and you can't sell those without the right paperwork.

Don't know why the mods haven't jumped on this like they did with bump-stocks, but if you are looking at one of the ads up there right now.. save your pennies and your prison record.

I will take all braces or braced guns off anyone that doesn’t want to be a felon… I have been to prison and am not afraid to go back…..
