I am convinced that food plots are far better than feeders

Nobody thinks about planting until Sept but the best time to plant clover is February.
What will happen is it will grow, spread roots and drop seed and even if heat or drought kills it back, it will bounce back as soon as temps and rain let it.
If you want thick clover patches during deer season then plant them in February.
Throw some oats in there to keep the deer for over browsing your young clover. It will die off in late spring anyway.
And /Or Spring wheat, it will grow until summer and then die off.

I've been saying this for years, but I'm going to plant sunflowers, tomatoes, pumpkins, and mix in some corn for a spring/summer plot. One day i'll do it.....both at the club (i'd like two 1/2 acre areas) and at home in a 1/4 section I cleared.
