My bird is now the boss. If I try to get him to step up he has realized that if he wraps his beak around my finger and slowly increases pressure I will get the point and leave him alone.

We have several modern day sayings that originated in the middle ages when falconry was widespread:

1. All fed up. When a falcon was full and no longer interested in hunting for the time being, they were said to be "all fed up".

2.When a falcon was at rest on it's masters wrist, the falcons lease was restrained by placing the leash under the handlers thumb. Hence the phrase "under my thumb".

3. The leash was further restrained by wrapping the leash around the handlers little finger. Hence "wrapped around my little finger".
