We have a healthy owl population in the woods around my house. I hear them hooting quite frequently. It's pretty cool to hear one call out and another one answer.

Same here...usually they like to converse in my backyard around 2am.

For many years my wife collected anything to do with inanimate, non-living owls, as they were considered good luck. Then one day she made the decision to stop and she trashed the entire very large, diverse collection. When I asked why the sudden change, she only stated that she was no longer interested. I never knew the real reason, but believe it might have had something to do with the passing of a close relative. Thanks.
