I picked up my 2nd Chevy truck/ 73-87 loose steering

The steering slop is first in the column to shaft joint just on the inside of the engine bay. It appears the single through bolt could have a larger diameter.
The gear box has some lash.
After it moves there is a bad outer tie rod.

I found the clutch dust cover and one of two support braces in North Dakota. I just have to find all the bolts.
I still have to:
Install a driver side motor mount.
Check/fix the alternator wiring,
Clean all the ground connections.
Check the front bearings and ball joints.
Driver window regulator.
Grease all 45 of the grease fittings.
All new fluids.

I changed the fan clutch, radiator cap, and thermostat today.

These came in the mail.

I just bought an 83 Scottsdale for my son. A 19 year old girl on her phone pulled out in front of his black 86 K10 on 9/22. Crazy! No one got hurt but the other truck is totaled. At least we have parts now. Lol!

Id start with the steering rag joint, then check ball joints, tie rods, control arm bushings. Motor mounts are the same for all GM's through those years. Can get some Anchor mounts from any parts store for like $20

EDIT: just saw this was from back in June. Im sure its been fixed by now.
