I've told more than one parent of teens and preteens that IF they don't respect you and Mom is enabling that disrespect then they need to FEAR you at least until such time that they learn respect. It's kinda like feeding a dog or cat that turns around and bites you. That pisses me off more than most things. I will be Goddamned if I will look out for anything or anyone and their needs /wants that then turns on me. So if fear is what's required in that situation then so be it.

I agree with you about that one,I'd never want them to fear me.. I should be a safe place and a person for them to trust. They just piss me off wolfmanrogers.. it's tough with all the teens man.. they're 13 & try to talk/act like they're 23 sometimes..

Yeah, I actually told them about 20 mins ago that they need to listen to a song called "Changes" by OZZY because theirs definitely some serious ones coming to this household starting immediately

When you’re taking stuff away from them, don’t forget to take their bedroom doors off. They can understand devices being taken away, but their minds pop when they lose the bedroom door.

Well, teenagers tend to get mouthy and disrespectful and generally pushing the boundaries of what's allowed.

They want to see what they can get away with-- at home with their parents,

with school officials and teachers,

and out in public concerning the laws laws about shoplifting, laws about loitering, laws about smoking pot & underage drinking...etc.

They need to be reminded of those boundaries and the very uncomfortable consequences of crossing a boundary.
