PSA plays the scarcity game best.

Even pre-covid, you could add something to your cart that was “in stock” and check back in an hour and it would be “out of stock” check back later in the day and it would be “in stock” and $10 higher than it was that morning.

they try to make you feel like you better order it right now. I watched the Ak gen 3 for a long while waiting for the combination I wanted but I’m glad I never bought one. They keep releasing better models.

I was looking into ways of making something similar and was unaware of the PSA thing. What I've found was BRN-180 from brownells and KNS AR/MCX stock Adapter would give near same thing. Reviews on the BRN-180 in pistol length are less than stellar but both are out of stock so not even a chance to try. At least companies are trying to be innovative more than just anodizing everything red or milling everything out.
