Idiot Amazon delivering on Sunday at 8pm in an unmarked van!

Don't shoot the messenger(or delivery person).

If it's after 7:00 p.m.? I normally hold my UPS driver at gunpoint (AR-15) and order him to crawl towards me on his knees with the package held over his head. Usually works pretty well keeping him and me safe except when I've ordered whole cases of Hirtenberger .308, then I order him to push each case forward while crawling with both hands visible.

On another note, not all, but most of us Retired folks or those up at 4 AM to go to work, do go to bed by 8pm, I have for over 35 years since my working days required the 4AM wakey call. So deliveries that late or later are subject to suspect, by a possible armed, sleepy headed, paranoid old dude that don't want no sh*t from anyone at that time, even if getting a preci0us gun part he may have ordered. So Amazon, all the rest take note, maybe a phone call for late deliveries could save a bad situation from occurring.

It gets dark at 5:30pm during winter, so you guys that treat a knock on the door after dark as a potential threat should probably stick to shopping at brick and mortar stores.

Put it in perspective. During the holidays, package delivery drivers can become targets of armed robbery. So, if I'm delivering when it's dark and some guy runs up on me with a flashlight and a gun, my first thought is that I'm being robbed. If the driver (all of them are contractors) is packing too, it could get ugly, all because service providers are working around the clock to get you the **** you ordered as quickly as possible and you don't like anybody on your lawn.
