Thats one of my biggest fears is getting shot while walking across someones back yard

Yep....thus my "walking" route is one of varying degrees of difficulty. I would rather wade through a swamp and take longer to get to my destination than take a shortcut through someone's property and potentially get shot in the process.

I was recently having a converstation with an individual who plans on following the "Golden Horde" out of the city and scavanging everything they can find.....Good News....they have a plan....bad news.....scavangers are also desperate and we all know what desperate people are capable of.

Good point inbonus, I couldn't agree more about the "road less traveled" in a previous post I mentioned a hammock trumps a tent for harsher terrain where there isn't as much competition for resources

Although good in theory....I wouldn't post that to a public forum.

Secondly, whats stopping the people from the northern burbs from becoming just as desperate? I would personally rather evade than try and fortify a position with an approaching overwhelming force. Destroying the bridges would in fact slow down the migrants from the inner city (Correct) but your also going to trap anyone inside that could be an innocent bystander.

If you were going to destroy something like that you would be better off to think smaller and more locally. The smaller your hide the easier it is to hide, the larger your base the larger of a force required to defend it.

Desperate people make for a good target rich enviroment. I want to stay away from all that.

Its commonplace to ask someone "Where would you go in case of an emergency?" Ironically, 98% of them all say "North to the Mountains"....my question is what on earth do you intend to do up there? How do you intend to find food? water? Shelter? I don't think you have an "App" for that.
