i think being a professional means doing the right thing all of the time and not letting your emotions cloud judgement
Well since you seem to have the best understanding of how officers should act I suggest you walk the mile in their shoes and uphold that standard you have set so high.

those who take ANY job should act like a professional. the reason i and most people hold police to a higher standard is because their job can influence peoples lives a little more than the shaquandra working at the DMV
if the government is going to grant them arrest power, assign them weapons and body armor, then they should follow state lines to the letter
end of story, dont want to be scrutinized for acting like an impatient asshole, act like a professional or dont be a cop

The breed of the dog has nothing to do with its temperment. Some dogs are more inclined to be guard dogs because they are more protective by nature. This can be curved with proper training of the animal and the owner. People need to learn how to control their fire arms, dogs and children. They all rank in the same category IMO. In fact my dog is better trained and behaved than 99% of peoples children.
