I'm pumped! New rifle coming soon.

Bear44 Bear44 doing the shoot at Arena Training Facility in Blakely again on November 11-12. Bring the new stick and stretch her legs. With 2,500yds available, that oughta be doable!

Little change, we’re shooting from the back of the field (where the tower and raised firing line are) on both days. That not only gives you an extra 300 yards, but a much better view of the targets. Since we were there in June, I talked to them and got them to move a bunch of the steel. So, more targets are easily visible, and they filled in a lot of the “gaps” between distances.

Outstanding! You know I'll be there.

EDIT: Wait, I thought it was on the 4th and 5th.

BMP is the HMR barreled action in a different chassis, still with a #5 taper. If you move up to the premier action for another $300, you get a much better action, stainless barrel, but again, you will still get a #5 taper. FWIW, Bergara rifles that go to Law Enforcement move up to a #6 taper but that is not offered commercially unless you custom order a gun or buy the Competition Rifle at $4100. There is a #7 taper option as well if you do a custom build.
That sucks. I might as well just build an AR10 6.5 Creedmore. I got under 1/2 with my .308 AR10 so maybe I should just use that recipe and use a tad lighter and longer barrel. If I could get under 1/2 MOA with an AR10 set up I just as soon go that way.

You would think they would respond to customer input. They would almost have a cult following if they offered the heavier barrel profiles in the long range shooting world. Well there goes that idea. I was sure they would offer a little more reliable barrel under strain. There goes that Idea. I do want to try one of their AR15 barrels for one build. I have been know to branch out and try a new barrel. Their prices allow that. If it doesn't perform then there is not a whole lot lost and just replace the barrel.

They do offer what you are looking for, but maybe just not for what you want to spend. $4100 gets you there. The #6 taper does just fine for what you are looking for. The barrel themselves are not an issue, its the taper you are looking for, for your purpose. I know the guys well down there, I will give them the feedback that they need to produce a heavier barrel variant of their current precision guns at a non-custom price point.
