Is this a king snake?

Found this guy in my garage when I went to get the mail. He was kinda mosleing along when I stuck my hand out just to let him move across my fingers and he took off fast. Scared me a little because I didn't think he could move that fast.

Either a king or a gray rat snake.

Looks like a regular rat snake, still good to have around unless you have chickens

Ok I just wanted to make sure I wasn't fooling with something aggressive. He was pretty passive though and had a small head. I took a picture of it but my phone didnt save it.

When in doubt, look at the eyes, poisons ones have slits for pupils not round.
