No, it is not a straw purchase, unless the other party is legally not allowed to be in possession of a firearm. Good question though.

Maybe this went down while you were in Vietnam but the definition has changed, brother. "Straw purchases" can now be made for a legal gun owner.

How does that have anything to do with ODT? I've never filled out or asked an ODTer to fill out a 4473.

You make a valid point...the man was busted for lying on a 4473...but now that SCOTUS has ruled that this is indeed a straw purchase, it opens the door to pursue intent over and against action.

i have listed a gun for a friend i guess technically

but i set up the meet and sold the gun myself so really it was still me doing it

I did the same and handled everything myself but was still for my friend
