The truth is that he's not wrong.

1/10 Mil subtends 0.36 inches at 100 yards, whereas 1/4 MOA is 0.2618 inches at 100 yards. The 1/4 MOA per click adjustment is more precise than 1/10 Mil.

I'm not making a judgement on one vs. the other, just that a 1/4 MOA per click scope has finer adjustments than a 1/10 Mil scope.

He’s saying if you shoot MOA or mil the rifle / shooter error isn’t enough to make a difference between the smaller adjustments of MOA.

I would like to point out that in my posting I stated: "I'm not making a judgement on one vs. the other, just that a 1/4 MOA per click scope has finer adjustments than a 1/10 Mil scope."

An appropriate response might have been "sure, MOA scopes have finer adjustments, but in the real world it doesn't matter".

Instead, the response was "I'm an arrogant jerk."

If you sight your rifle with the point blank zero. Which is roughy 47 yards. Your next zero is at 246 yards. So unless your shooting further than 300 yards you never have to use any mil. Or moa. Because you will hit a 5 inch target every time with the cross arrow (dead on) anywhere between 47 and 300 yards. This is called a snipers point blank zero.

That works great for some applications. Horrible for others. And that is not consistent for all cartridges and setups.

I have it set for my 556. 6.5cr my 50cal muzzleloader and my 17hmr. Never any issues always on target long as you figure in the wind and bullet drop
