I'll resurrect an older thread with new info.

Shot two last week in Alabama with my new rig, a Kimber 84m Hunter in .257 Roberts. One buck fell in his tracks, the other made it almost 20 yards. Most impressed with this light kicking caliber. Entire rig weighs just over 6 lbs.

I would like a Rem 700 in 257 Roberts myself. Just because I dont have one.

257 Roberts and 358 Winchester are on my list to try.

Really the only thing I deer hunt with though is 44 magnum and 35 Rem

I've used the 300 wm for years, mainly when trophy hunting, but meat hunting I prefer a softer shooter round like the 30.06 or 308 or 12 gauge buckshot depending on the terrain I'm hunting.

Ive only taken 2. One with a 30-06 and another with a 300 wm. Both those rifles are gone and I hope to eventually take at least one each with a 50 cal BP rifle and either a 10mm or 44mag pistol.
