NEED ADVICE ON RUNNING( JOGGING) SHOES

I started off walking, now I’m trying to incorporate more jogging or running ( for me it is) maybe walking really fast.. lol.
I’m about 240 -250 lbs and would like a good recommendation for GOOD SHOES.. the shoes will only be used for this .. I’d like to say money is no option but at this time it may be.. but I’ll look at anything.. any help would be greatly appreciated

Where can I go to try any of these shoes out in person? A certain type of store.. ACADAMY, or a higher end shoe store?

I'm about 290lbs and bought some New Balance model 860s and they have held up great and I walk quite a bit on trails, dirt roads etc. my brother walks/runs a ton and really likes Hoka brand shoes. People also swear by on-clouds but I have never tried them.

I wear Brooks all the time I’ve tried Hokas but the arch hurt my feet. My second choice would be ASICS they are great shoes. I have heard good things about Onclouds but I haven’t tried them.

You’ll probably want a good stability shoe based on your size. Hoka (brand) Arahi (model) are an amazing shoe. Pricey at about $140 for the current model, or $110 if you can find last year’s model in your size, but worth every penny. Academy doesn’t carry them, but you can find them at REI, Dick’s, Zappos, Big Peach, or Hoka website. If you don’t want to buy from stores like REI or Dick’s, you could try them in there & order the same size direct.

The Altra zero drop shoes are very comfortable and they have a wide toe box, i.e., the shoes don't crowd your toes.
