New to black powder

I also have used powerbelts with 100 gr pyrodex and never to date lost one. I let my son use mine 2 years ago and he shot a nice 10 pt. Was his first with ML. We did have to track it , went about 100 yds in cutover. I always have liked them

Killed my first deer with a smoke pole. It ran at least 200yds as I recall. I've always used Pyrodex and a #11 cap. With a little care, I've never had a problem. I always replace cap every day, especially if it's raining. And a balloon over the muzzle

She ran about 3 feet , quarter slightly away from me at 80 yards. I'm just old skool .54 patched roundball 100 grains 2f Blackpowder. I believe thats 5 does and 2 bucks with this load and rifle. I've not had one go more than a few yards. Ball ran full length of deer exited behind last rib lodged under the hide, vitals were grenaded.

Congrats, very good. I'm surprised you get that kind of accuracy out of a round ball. But definitely more power to you. If it ain't broke, don't fix it

I've shot them out of mine. I like a more modern bullet....

Try a neck shot next time. If you hit near the spine It will drop but if you cut the juggler vein it can bleed into the windpipe with no blood trail either.
