Late to this thread but I've had more luck with just placing a couple of sets of solar predator eyes around then anything else. I use to have to deal with a predator(raccoon, possum,bobcat) every 3-4 months attacking my flock but since I put up the eyes haven't had anything happen since. It's been about a year with no incidents.
