Officiating

It's about as dramatic a change in apparent philosophy as I can imagine.

I don't get it, and like you said, you would think at this point in his career he would be going the other direction, demanding even more discipline and tolerating no nonsense. It showed clearly that he doesn't demand respect, and that makes him, well, hard to respect.

It was also why Richt's luster began to wane for me in the end. Had nothing to do with the underperforming.

Yeah, that's not how it works, at all. I don't recall one reviewed play going the wrong way. Thankfully EVERY call isn't reviewed. Unfortunately, that apparently still leaves room for blatant incompetence, or worse, to affect the most important game of the year.
Other than that your analogy is ..... nope.... still completely irrelevant.
I wouldn't expect anything less, thank you.

I'm a Dawg. I was there. I saw most of the calls in question. Missed/blown calls are always part of the game. It happens to everyone.

But I think the following is probably true: It was a fairly sloppily officiated game. Both teams deserved a higher caliber officiating crew than the one last night.

Tremendous credit to Saban and the Tide. They adjusted well after being dominated early and played a phenomenal second half. They made the big plays when needed. They deserve the title.

No shame for the Dawgs in that game nor the season.

I hope you taped it (or maybe not). Watching the reviews of all the calls will leave you with a slightly less c'est la vie attitude I'm sure.
Switching QBs was either brilliant or arrogant. That kid obviously has an amazing future. I've never seen 3 QBs with so much composure on such a stage. Their age makes it that much more incredible.
