Oh, and I haven't worn a Watch since ... ever !
I always know what time it is.
Why wear a useless encumbrance ?

Very well said. And you drive a VW Beetle, own one change of clothes(well two - one for laundry day), live in an undecorated apartment near work, have ONE handgun(if any) and eat the same three meals every day.
Life is about enjoying the luxuries while you can. Monotony is the killer of the soul. Functionality, while important, is not the mother of art, music or pleasure. Watches, fine pens, clothes, shiny cars, savory cuisine and rich, heady beers, are all function elevated to art. And all should be savored as they enrich your soul, not dismissed as extravagant or irrelevant.

Interesting! Definitely based on the Omega Speedmaster.
I just got to ask.Do you guys enjoy the feeling of having a finely crafted gun in your hands? How the frame and slide mesh and glide over each other like a buttery smooth Beretta 92? How the finish is rich and glossy as on a Smith and Wesson 1911? How brutally efficient and filled with deadly potential like a Glock? The amazing and precise engineering that can harness an explosion and turn an inert piece of lead into a hurtling monstrosity to deal death and destruction in the cause of defense and protection.
A fine watch gives pleasure similarly. Wearing a quality timepiece is a private pleasure much like carrying a quality firearm. The clean lines of the case, smooth and crisp. The clarity of the crystal and beauty of the face and hands and complications protected by sapphire. The comforting heft of it on your wrist. How it catches the sun in unexpected fire. The amazing interaction of gears and springs, all whirring and dancing in just such a precise order as to accurately mark the seconds, minutes and days, all while looking so stylish and attractive and resting right on your wrist. Magnificent.
I don't need my gun every second of every day. But I need it WITH me every second. Similarly I don't NEED a watch...but I ENJOY the ownership and association with such a marvelous piece of engineering.
And a fine watch also brings with it a sense of history and belonging. The basic design of the watch goes back in mechanical form nearly 900 years and before that in water cog design and before that as sun dials as much as 3500 years ago.
Just as a radio will never fully replace a symphony orchestra, a digital readout on a cellphone should never replace the elegance and class of a real, quality timepiece.
