Can someone tell me if there's anything special about this old model 36? I just thought it was odd that the tgrip had a SW stamp on it. Unsure of the year but it is pre 1969. First 3 of the serial are 9j3

If you’re talking about the metal medallion inset in the grips with the S&W logo, those were standard at the time for factory grips.

The grip adapter is metal. However the serial number on the grip and the one inside the cylinder don't match up. Any thoughts on this? And I have an old bill of sale from 1969 where it was purchased. Is it possible someone just changed out the grip? I have 2 of these and they're both like that with the different serials
