Open season on AR's

Soon to be the prize in a box of Cracker Jacks!

In a year the range officers will be asking, "Please sweep up your brass and any spare AR's you don't want to take home."

I was waiting for the good entertainment to start!

Oh what a difference one election makes. But seriously even before November ARs were trending down and had been pretty much all of 2016. Walmart dumped them on clearance last year. There was a thread about Walmart bending over to the gubment. But that wasn't why they did it. They dumped them because they were collecting dust. Somewhere around 3 to 4 years ago I'd say that everyone that wanted an AR bought or built one. And all the build kits and cheap stripped lowers didn't help the value situation.
Now AKs are hot again. I love them unconditionally but I will admit they aren't as user friendly. But my theory is that AKs are going for more money now because of the fact that some of the brands and countries of origin are off limits now. But the big difference in AKs and ARs value wise is that you can't take an AK parts kit and build it on your dinner table like you can with an AR. You gotta have the specialist oils and experience to do it. But sooner or later the pendulum will swing the other way again.

The only thing that can drive up the price of AR's at this point is the number of businesses that got in producing them go out of business.

It's supply and demand. And look at all the folks that "stocked up" in preparation for Hillary's election that never happened.

I see 'em dropping to $329 within the year for the base models.

Maybe lower.

Specialist oils, huh??? :eyebrows::eyebrows::eyebrows:

Whew! What a relief! I thought we were going to have to wait all weekend for a piss and moan thread about this.There must be some missing noses on here because there seem to be several stuck in other people's business.

At this point everyone is going to cap production and let the supply dwindle off. ****, I don't think people thought Oly would be the first to close the doors (although they had it coming). I thought all the mid-lower generic providers (Radical Firearms, Karri's Guns, Midstate Firearms, etc) would be the first.
