I hear and see these types of things all the time when discussing deer hunting. The thought that always crossed my mind is, "if you don't care about antlers, and by all accounts, you can't eat them, then why shoot a buck at all? Plenty of does running around." But undoubtly that is the response you hear about the two-year old six pointer laying on the ground..... "you can't eat them horns anyway!" Just let him walk next time and shoot the does instead. Win-win for the meat hunters and the trophy hunters as the does taste better anyways. Just my opinion. What's your best recipe for antlers? I haven't found one I like yet.
Oh I think they care. It’s just away to act like you don’t. I personally am proud of every deer ive ever taken even the spikes. I have a good many quality ones too but I hunt for the fun of it and when it quits being fun I’ll stop Those are two good ones BearI hear and see these types of things all the time when discussing deer hunting. It's hard to tell from year to year which is which sometimes. I have new bucks move into the area and others will permanently disappear. I think the eight point is about 4.5 years. If he's 3.5, he's huge for one that age.Bear the last pic looks to be 3 how old do you think, you know your deer better than I do.
