I am not a fan of the wooden ball at all. It comes off too easy. I like the portability of that stand though.
Yep, I finally epoxied mine on. Tore my hand up on the threads once when the ball popped off.

That stand is pretty cool and so is the 2x4.
I went another route and just use large C clamps on the old rock chucker and lock the base to the table at the range.
Two C clamps and a press.
Is the stand pretty sturdy with that design without being attached to a table or other surface from your experience?
I like it bud. Thanks for sharing, gave new life to my field press project. I was focusing on a large bench grinder/drill press stand and this is way more portable.
