Pre-ban?

Most LEOs, hell even gun people, could not look at a gun and tell if it is 922R compliant and they really have no appetite to prosecute under the statute. It's one of those things they don't care about until they do.

LEOs and lawyers can correct my scenario but here is goes:

Over a 24 month period Joe buys a couple dozen lowers and BATFE does an audit at his favorite gun store. Agents show up on Joe's front step wanting to talk guns and Joe does the smart thing by telling them to contact his attorney. An enterprising agent goes out and looks at Joe's online activity "just to make sure" he is not running firearms business without a license when he runs across Joe's listing for a non-compliant import. The agent runs this by a judge and get a warrant to search Joe's house for 922R violations.

In that scenario, BATFE doesn't need to prosecute Joe to turn his life upside down.

Yep, some ATF guy who want to make a name for himself would do this in a heartbeat.... And the media would eat it up, Illegal assault rifle(s) found in Georgia etc. etc... After all 922r is here to protect us from.... Oh wait 922r dosent do anything useful...

so could i get this

plus this

http://www.centerfiresystems.com/kit-amd65.aspx

it would be on me to make sure it was 922r compliant still? (assuming i can build this thing), it looks like the receiver and the barrel are both american made

which also begs another question

if a receiver is considered the "actual firearm", if an importer had an assload of receivers in a different country, he couldnt import them unless it came with X amount of american parts still? this is getting so complicated
