Reloading ballistic tips question

The tips on my vmax 223's are damaged when I reload them. What am I doing wrong?

Check your bullet seating die to make sure that there is nothing stuck in the seating rod. You might have some lead or something from a previous load stuck in there.

Reload a lot of .308 BTs, but not .223.

I have 2 sets of .223 dies, Lee & RCBS. The bullet seating rod appears to have plenty of room to allow for the ballistic tip in both. Just wondering if something might be stuck in his.
