I am starting reloading for the m1 garand and will soon be for the 30 carbine. I will be getting some IMR 4064 and wondering what recipe is best for this powder. I have some 150 gr bullets and have read to start with 47 and work up. Anyone else use this powder?

I shoot 48gr of 4064 in my Garand. Good accuracy and a safe load for not damaging the gun. I use 14.3gr of H110 for the 30 carbine using 110gr bullets. But hey, don't take my word for it. I might be an idiot. Start lower and work your way up.

4064 should work fine, most of my reading led me to H4895 so I picked up a pound of that to try. I have not had time to try it yet but it seemed to be quite popular with the Garand reloaders I talked to.

Nothing faster than imr4895, nothing slower than imr 4064 Is the rule of thumb. I've used both 4895s and imr4064 with good results. The other option is buy an adjustable gas plug and shoot what you got.

I have been using 168 grain bullets and Varget powder for years. I am not near my reloading data so I won't give any specific loads without knowing for sure.

For the carbine, I use 110 grain bullets and H110 powder.
