IMR 4064 is a very good choice of powder for 308, as other posters have mentioned. As far as primers, I use whatever LR primers I have on hand. They all work well and go bang.

I've even got some 40 year old Alcan LR Maxfire primers left over from the old days. Each one performs like it's right off of the shelf.......
