Project Appleseed is hosting several more weekend classes this year. There are classes coming up in Toccoa, Macon, Albany and northwest Ga near Fox Mountain.

Appleseed focuses on the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship. We will help you with a strong foundation to build on. We teach you trigger control and discipline, sight picture and alignment, using a sling to aid stability, and how to find your natural point of aim in three position shooting. All shooters will learn something and improve their marksmanship, from the brand new to the experienced. The skills taught will lead to the ability to hit targets out to 500 yards without the need of bags, bipods, or rests.

There is a high instructor to shooter ratio. Safety is our first priority, new shooters will receive the attention they need to have a safe and productive experience. You can bring your kids, and focus on improving your own skills, knowing they will be taken care of.

Cost for the weekend is $60 for adults, $20 for children, and Leo/military/elected officials are free. We are able to keep the cost low because all instructors are volunteers. Our goal is to build a nation of rifleman that carry on the tradition of our nation's founding, not to separate you from your wallet.

I'll answer any questions you have in the thread, or by PM. You can see the upcoming schedule and sign up for an event in the following link.

do it! Anybody who hasn't had formal rifle marksmanship training and coaching doesn't know what they're missing.
Appleseed is legit. Serious and useful help in how to hold a rifle steady without sandbags, how to minimize your "wobble area" on the target, and how to make the trigger break without jerking it. And it gives you practice shooting and reloading your rifle under time constraints (although it's a pretty generous amount of time, if you're shooting a semi-auto with a detachable box magazine).
I did the Toccoa Appleseed a few years ago, and it was great.
