I use no optics that require a battery. Not for hunting or defense. That`s one more thing that can fail. There is most likely coming a time when you can`t get batteries. I don`t depend on having electricity for anything in the future. A generator might get me by long enough to eat up perishable food.

I don't have a gun at all because of this. Those primers are one more thing to fail, plus the gunpowder, hammer springs, trigger bars, etc. Nah, too unreliable.

I carry a rock. Sure, it's old school, but it's reliable, unlike those mechanical gun things. Heck, it don't even rust, and will work when the mud is CAKED on. That bad boy will be there for thousands of years.
