"What is the least you will take?" If I have a price posted that is what I want. You are free to counter-offer but do not insult me with that line. I am likely to respond with "what is the most you will give me" (and usually the person then looks at me like I am an ass) or my version of "no soup for you". I love a good haggling session but when you use that line it shows how unskilled you are in the art of the deal.

My standard reply to that question is, What's the most you're willing to pay?

Good thing you posted this, now I'm sure no one will ever ask you "what's the least you'll take" knowing how much that upsets/insults you. Kinda like banning "assault weapons" will stop all gun violence.
