Sharpen a knife scary sharp in under 2 minutes

I bought the grinder at Harbor Freight. I cut the wheels out of mdf. The stropping wheel I made from 5 pieces of leather glued together.

Even though I'm kinda old school when it comes to sharpening knives. I'm never close minded to methods that will geterdone :0)

Exactly the reason I did this. I've tried the Lansky and Apex Pro as well as spending hundreds of dollars on Japanese wet stones with no luck. I looked at the Wicked Edge system, but the cost along with everybody I know that buys it, usually doesn't use it because it is a lot harder than it looks.

Most companies that sharpen knives use a system similar to this.

I have around $100 in the whole thing, including grinder.

if you can find one a ole emory wheel will do same thing

I bought the best one Harbor Freight had (is that an oxymoron?) and I had a coupon. I paid around $65. If you go there, Google Harbor Freight coupons for a coupon.

I like that you made it yourself. I have the same buffer from Harbor Freight, though I purchased a paper wheel sharpening kit. My polishing paper wheel is not perfectly round, and chatters like crazy.

How did you cut the wheel perfectly round?
