We were in Vegas a couple weeks ago and a friend of my daughters who I taught to shoot would like to buy a gun for protection. We shot skeet at Clark county shotting complex which is 5 minutes from her house. WOW what a world class place. She is like another daughter to me and I mentioned she did not need to buy a gun, I will give her one.

I believe I can take 1 of mine that I 4473,ed or any other for to Tru-Prep and ship to the FFL there and she can do the paperwork and accept. Is this correct. Want it to be on the up n up.

You are correct............and it does not have to be one you personally 4473'd

I wont buy 1 to send, it will come from the herd.

You can ship it straight to the FFL via FedEx. You need to call them, & ask how they would like it addressed, & how they’d like it identified as to who it’s going to (daughter’s friend).

FedEx has packaging instructions on their website, & you have to take it directly to a shipping depot (by Dobbins). You also have to declare it when you drop it off. They’ll just be like, “ok.”

Actually it looks like you don’t have to declare it anymore, & it doesn’t have to be a depot (although I would still recommend the depot).

You don't have to use an FFL. Call the FFL receiver and ask if they take shipments from individuals (most do) and just overnight yourself via UPS or FedEx.

Just put a copy or your ID in the box and the name and phone number of who the transfer is for.

Of course you can use a local FFL too but it's just an unnecessary extra step.

That's pretty much the process. You'll need to make sure the FFL in Vegas accepts that kind of transfer and what their charges are. It'll likely cost a bit on both ends.
Did while we were there $45. I believe $25 from True Prep but doesn't matter about the price on my end. She has been through my kitchen drills to become comfortable as well as several range days. Her Fiancé is military as well as neighbor is LE and has shot since. She said she wants to sneak out and take some classes to be more proficient, I covered that with a gift certificate. Now need to send her a gun. Check and check.
