It should be 21 for everything. Marriage, voting, buying a gun, drinking, joining the military, etc. etc. etc. You are literally psychotic at 18, and at 16 you should simply be locked in a box and fed through a straw.

Worst thing that ever happened to politics was caving into the Boomers and letting them vote at 18.

There's this illusion amongst the "progressives" and Democrats that there is a youth movement just simmering under the surface waiting for the chance to rise up against the Conservative Oppressors. Every election you see them trying to get the attention of the "youth vote" and in at least a couple of Presidential elections, I can remember some commentators telling us that the younger generation was going to flip the election for the Democrats.
It didn't happen that way, the 18-21 voters generally don't show up.

I think that they'll push for 16 yr olds to get the vote until someone shows them that the 16yr olds cannot be counted on to vote for Progressive causes on a regular basis. When that happens, they'll start trying to take the vote away from the 16yr old demo.
