Quick, easy and cheap.

These are “Tight-Tolerance Oil-Hardening (or Multipurpose) O1 Tool Steel Rod”.

A 3” 6.5mm was $6.62 while the 5.56 was $5.66. At that length, you can cut 2 or 3 alignment rods out of a single rod, depending upon the length of your can and how long you want it to be.

What are these for exactly? Can’t you just screw on your suppressor to the threaded barrel and go?

Running these rods ensures the proper alignment of the barrel to the supressor. If they aren't aligned, a bullet may potentially strike the end of the can, leading to a terrible day at the range. Muzzle devices may move, be installed slightly off, or barrel threading may not be concentric to the actual bore.

I’ve never had an issue with any quality ar barrels with the mounts installed according to spec but this is a cheap price to pay for peace of mind.

A baffle strike is a royal pain in the ass to get repaired.

Also this is a must have for any ak owners wishing to mount a can. You have to know just how drunk the communist factory workers were on the day the barrel was threaded.

This is awesome, thank you! Beats the hell out out spending $50 on one.
