Talk me out of a safe

There are options with some work and ingenuity that can hide the safe or put the attention on something else. Also a personal articles policy ( PAP ) with your vehicle and homeowners policy. You give detailed description of the gun and the equipment added. The policy is based on the value of each gun that you say it's worth. The amount you pay is based on your values. For example let's just say you have 15,000 dollars worth of guns. Your premium would be around 15 bucks a month. Your home owners policy only covers 2,500 worth of guns in the event of a covered catastrophic event or theft. They can tie a chain around the safe and yank it through the wall and drag it off to wherever. State Farm cuts you a check based on the values you stated. No questions asked. It's covered. The best protection you can have bar none. My best friends wife owns a SF agency. He works with her. He turned me on to that info.
Yeah, considered that, don’t care for someone else having a database with detailed descriptions of every gun I own, plus my address. YMMV

my experience with safes is they hold approximately 1/2 of what they advertise they hold. I'm sure you could get 64 Remington Nylon 22's in the 64 model safe as long as they didn't have a scope on one.
Yes, especially scoped rifles take the capacity down.

Buy A Rhino…external hinges are the way to go. (full door swing)

I assume you are talking about Smart Safes? Matt is a good buddy, he will take care of you.
I went back today for round 2. Bought Rhino 7242EX. They were offering some incentives on it. Looks like a good size and it does have the external hinges. Liberty Colonial was prettier but think I got a good comp at a discount. Probably goes without saying, the guys at Smart Safes were great at answering questions and giving advice, which wouldn’t have been the case at Tractor Supply. They also have a location in Rincon if anyone is looking in the Savannah area. I bought in North Augusta, SC.

Thanks for everyone’s input.
