Trump is the one that decided to move on releasing this and picked today. This was all before the Clinton Russia stuff hit the news...If there was a bombshell in the release he would delay it so as not to distract the media.
I think the other direction is more likely. He doesn't really want Hillary in trouble, they've been friends for more than 30 years.

We already have all the facts, you don't think the government would lie do you ? That would be deceiving and manipulating the electorate, that would be dishonest, so could never happen.
