This year's gun bill...

^^^^This is extremely well said, thank you.^^^^

If every gun owner drew the line in the sand at what the Constitution actually says instead of trying to redefine it with compromises to suit their beliefs as to what it should say, gun laws would be nonexistent. Furthermore, when anti-gunners rear their ugly head up, if every gun owner and Pro 2A politician simply responded with "if you want to abolish the Second Amendment there is a Constitutional procedure to do so; I suggest you look there for what you seek."

It truly saddens me as to how many so-called Constitutionalist and Pro 2A advocates are so wiling to bend over and grab their ankles and call it common sense compromise. Indoctrination is a powerful tool, and anti-gunners are masters in its use. With that said, one must never forget that gun control is to make ignorant people feel good in their beliefs, and belief is the death of intelligence.

In conclusion, we are our own worst enemy.

And we already have laws against possessing a firearm while intoxicated. Thank you for making my point! ;)

You still have not said whether you should be required to go back and have training. That you have to pay for.

What was your point again? Lol

If it was required of me to take a course when I renew mine I wouldn't oppose it. Who knows I might learn something that I didn't know before. Actually I would like to be able to take a course but I'm a cheapskate. I've watched several YouTube videos of the subject though.

Here's another question: If carry permits were absolutely free but you would have to take a free safety course would you all still be pitching a hissyfit?

When you compromise with rights, your doomed from the beginning. That's been proven over and over and over. Eventually they will take your compromise and compromise it again and again until there is nothing left. Frogman I don't see how you can actually support this. I don't see how anyone can , except the anti 2A crowd.

Yeah, those Founders pitched hissy fits.

Done with this troll.

Yes, they would.

Not really fair to qualify the opposition here as a hissy fit. And yes, I would. In fact, I would like to see the license requirement repealed. You are already not allowed to possess a firearm if you are disqualified form having a license, so what is the point?

My point was that there are already laws that are designed to punish bad actors. Which is exactly what you pointed out. However, in the interest of safety, we can always pass more prohibitions and regulations.

The problem with "common sense" regulations is that they are rarely common sense, and they take the onus of using any common sense and personal responsibility off of the citizenry.

The law is pretty good at punishing unlawful activity. It is horrible at preventing unlawful or negligent activity.
