This year's gun bill...

When I searched the ga.gov website, the email search for senators wasn't working. So, I found this link with email addresses for each district in Georgia:

http://stateofgeorgiateaparty.com/?page_id=737

If you don't know what district you live in, you can find out from the search box on the Secretary of State's website:

http://mvp.sos.state.ga.us/

I also sent emails to the senator for the district where I work (which is different from where I live), and the senator for where my kids and grandkids live. They may not pay attention to my request, but it couldn't hurt.

So for us simple minds is my interpretation correct?

If you have a GWCL...it's not "legal" to carry on campus but if you get caught then you will only face a fine not to exceed $100 and you will NOT be arrested?

Hope this passes.

right, just a civil fine, like a parking ticket.

Hope this passes. I will be surprised if that part of it makes it out of committee in the senate. I would bet that gets changed just like the bill regarding changing the carry permit age down to 18+ with training for those that are 18-20 years old. Made it through the house but got completely changed and pretty much dropped in committee at the senate a year or two ago.

This should work for emailing them all...

(2)(A)Any license holder who violates this subsection in or on any real property owned by or leased to any public or private elementary or secondary school or school board and used for elementary or secondary education or in or on the campus of any private technical school, vocational school, college, university, or other institution of postsecondary education shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

(B) Any license holder who violates this subsection in or on the campus of any public technical school, vocational school, college, university, or other institution of postsecondary education shall not be arrested but shall be fined not more than $100.00. Such fine shall be remitted to the local jurisdiction where the offense occurred.

(C) Any person who is not a license holder who violates this subsection shall be guilty of a felony and, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $10,000.00, by imprisonment for not less than two nor more than ten years, or both.

So a misdemeaner if a license holder carries on a private college (2a) but just a civil fine for same carry on a public college (2b)? Confusing!!!

No.

(2)(A) If you are a license holder and carry on any of these campuses, you have committed a misdemeanor.

(2)(B) If you are a license holder, the misdemeanor you just committed for carrying on a campus is not a arrest-able offense. And the fine can be up to $100.00

(2)(C)If you are not a license holder and carry on a campus, you are screwed and have committed a FELONY

You should still be exempt if you're part of 16-11-130.
