Have you left it alone for over 15 minutes to reset?

I left is alone for almost 24hrs to allow MYSELF to reset...let it sit without a battery for a few hours too....

Haha...figured you had....just thought to double check the obvious. I believe I would be making a phone call tommorrow.

I know the manual says the door has to be open and in locked position to change the code but what about trying to change the code?

Well..haven't been stoned in several decades. Could of been drinking, but as a rule I generally dont mess with my guns while that drunk!

Now that I think about it,it was unlocked and I could not get it to lock untill I changed the battery. Surely it doesn't unlock when the battery dies?!

When you talk to canon make sure they know this. Absolute worst case is canon cuts it open and then gives you a knew one. They have the BEST warranty. That is why I bought one.

Well, if that's the case, cut out the back and then once you get the door open, you can weld the back back on!

Secu Ram locks are cheap copies of a LA GARD (kaba-mas). In multiple post I have recommended that any one who buys a safe with a SECU RAM change it to a LAGARD or SG. I use both electronic and dial locks from these manufactures and have no trouble. Your lock can be drilled to open.
