It should have came with a long t shaped key that will open it with the pad removed.

Pull wires thru with rubber grommet ad ends and the grommet wI'll keep it from going back in

I got locked out of my safe a couple of years ago a night or two before hunting season was about to start. I now have 5 safes of varying sizes for redundancy...

Also I'm sure you won't allow the wires to fall through again, but an endoscope is a handy gadget to have for just such occasions, and they are cheap.

True, anything can fail. When it comes to my guns, I'm about limiting variables; batteries, codes, keypads, wires, etc.... no thanks. We've had multiple posts about electronic safe issues. I don't recall a single one about a traditional mechanical safe. I'll play the odds.
