My buddy said that's a candle that burns an inch an hour. Other then that no idea what it's called.

OP knew someone would ask about that, we forgot to clear it off the table.
It's called candle by the hour. One inch of the candle is supposed to last an hour. The candle will burn out when it reaches the clamp.
