KBB is a guide. NADA is what dealers use. Prices vary based on region but, condition, appeal, and popularity also have a lot to do with price. I don't mind paying a little more when the car was maintained well. The most important thing I've learned over the years is don't be emotional about the purchase. Do your homework and be ready when a good deal comes along.

I don't mind payin a "little" extra either...but... lets just say there "is" a car on here.. The owner is asking almost $4k edmunds and KBB both say in excellent cond car is worth $2k max.. I think they are just fishing for an uninformed buyer..

actually thanks to cash for clunkers a couple years back the used car market it all kinds of messed up. I have been on car lots in the past year and seen used cars selling for more than the same car new. The used car market is all kinds of jacked up right now and will probably take a few years to stabilize. KBB doesn't mean much of anything right now.

Thats not from cash for clunkers, they get priced like from the used car sales manager. If you have a used car that is the same as the current model year, some lenders allow you to loan "like invoice" on a used car. They will mark them over new MSRP knowing that they will probably get talked down anyway, plus they are waiting for that one guys that buys into the "sticker is quicker" and they knock his/her head off...lol


I went in to buy my new STI and they had a 2014 used for $1,500 over my new one of the same trim level. He said "we can make you a deal on that one".....Yeah, I bet you could....
