What a truck should look like from the factory

Chevy got it right on the 02 and up series of Z71 Tahoe. Beefy and Brawny!

Why they went back low, especially on the Z is weird.
 
I remember truck shopping for my first silverado and finding some "z71's" I liked, only to find out that not all z71's are 4wd anymore. It blew my mind. Apparently z71 is a package that can be put on any truck 2wd or 4wd.

they did it strictly for fuel economy. It was how they could squeeze every last MPG out of a full size v-8

"Z71" is like how Ford uses the FX package now. They just call it FX2 and FX4 where as Chevy calls them all Z71. They just get minor appearance upgrades, i believe suspension upgrades and last i heard a skid plate.
