What did you do to better your prep today?

Loaded 500- 40's, 500 -556's, and 500- 9mm's over the weekend, damn buying the stuff when you can reload for about 35-40% of retail cost.
went to Glock match to hone skills & get exercise with gun muscles.

Went to wally world with the spousal unit. In the pharmacy are they had a big bin of generic OTC meds for .88 per box. Got generic benydryl, anti-diarrhea, pain/fever meds as well as few boxes of sinus medication.

Went through all our old Adventure Racing gear and found headlamps, compasses, maps of all over North GA, glow sticks, flares, pill containers, emergency blankets, tweezers, mole skin, tow devices and all the crappy tasting jells that were left over.

Paddled the Cartecay river in a canoe for the exercise and thrill Saturday.

Update on the Chef's Banquet ARK. Arrived on the 6th calender day after order placed. HUGE box with 2 six gallon buckets on my front porch(UPS guy hates me now). Buckets in perfect condition. Opened to inspect packaging and all mylar bags tight. Buckets slam full. Not like wise where nearly half the bucket is dead air. Took out one packet of the Chicken Stew and re-closed the buckets for storage with the rest of the supplies.

Cooked up 2 servings of the "stew" and it tastes great. Not sure I'd call it stew though. The largest pieces were the peas. OK, maybe a piece of celery once it got fully reconstituted. VERY happy with the purchase and plan on buying SEVERAL more buckets. They say it has a 15 year shelf life whereas Wise claims 25 but so far it tastes much better, offers a lot more calories per bucket and even costs a little less. Wise calls theres 60 servings, Chef's says 330 servings.

Here's where I bought it:

And here are links to the nutritional info for a meal to meal comparison on calories etc. As can be seen, the Chef's is offering

I tried to do the calorie count math but the page with the Wise info doesn't have all the entrees listed. So I credited them with the highest calorie count listed for ANY of thier entrees to be generous and did the math based on that.

Wise 30 day bucket offers 60 servings for 15680 calories.
Chef's 30 day ARK offers 330 servings for 58170 calories.

Chef's Banquet gives 42490 calories more than wise for a few bucks less.

Only consideration in Wise's favor is that their servings are packed 4 to a bag(with non resealable bags), whereas Chef's Banquet comes 30 servings in a zip-sealable mylar bag.

Have you ever tried the water stored that way after it has sat for a couple of months? I had some that really tasted like plastic. I mean so bad they were hard to drink. And I rinsed the bottles with hot water and sanitized them with bleach, then rinsed again before filling.

First time with the plastic bottles. Did you shake it up before you tried to drink it? How long did you keep it stored? I'm planning on rotating them in 6 months....thoughts?
