That's a pretty weak statement considering so many of the players on college teams and eventually pro, find themselves on the wrong side of the law. Coaches are hired to coach and win championships, not babysit.

Yes, they are paid to babysit, very well paid. Paterno let children get molested to win, Urban let a future murder run wild, Bowden...I don't know, and Saban is a evil midget wizard that makes violations disappear.
