You can also wrap a piece of strong tape around a rod. Like duct tape or electrical tape. Just keep an eye on it to make shore it’s not slipping.

The orange thing is about an inch and a half -2 inches long it is Square
The washer or flat part is attached to the end of it
What it is actually used for I don’t know
I would use it to put on a round probing stick for checking rock/gravel/asphalt thickness

You could use a tennis ball or rubber ball on your probe bar. Itll slide up & down wherever you need it to be. Drill holes in the ball smaller than your probe bar so it dont slide up/down on its own
