@bikerbill DO you ever see anyone using a M1 At RBGC for HP matches?

Yes you can use a Garand or a M1A is High Power Matches. Before building my AR I shot for a year with my M1A in High Power and EIC matches. It gave me a boost when I switched to the AR. Mainly due to the increased weight(M1A approx. 9lbs, AR with lead weights 17lbs, stability increase consistency), less recoil and optic. The fundamentals you perfect with the wood guns translates to higher scores. in an 800agg I would average around 730 with the M1A, the AR I average 760.

I've been thinking of abusing myself by trying to shoot Hi-Power matches with either an M1A NM or SM. Everybody seems to think if you aren't shooting .223 you ain't **** or have a snowball's chance of getting points.

I'm having similar thoughts...i need to tighten up on my fundamentals though

M1A or M1 seems logical...although not " modern" BUT - I get to shoot a Rifle that was used in WW2.

That's a whole other level of competition rifle! Very nice!

I don't think I'm gonna shoot across the course. But I do think I may try to mid range.
